Howler

Settlement work, ready for review.

Howler helps staff prepare lien-reduction requests, track payee responses and acceptances, and assemble an editable Settlement Memorandum working draft.

Howler

Howler begins when the attorney tells staff a case has settled. Staff provide the release and Howell chart, identify payees, prepare reduction requests, and track each response through acceptance.

The payee ledger and closing calculations organize gross settlement, attorney fees, costs, payoffs, advances, and net to client from documents and staff entries. Missing figures and conflicting records remain visible; a Howell recoverable amount is distinct from an accepted lien payoff.

The current scope is California personal-injury settlement work. Staff and attorneys review the editable Word memorandum and finish approval, client signature, and disbursement through the firm’s operating process.

The Howler workflow

Source documents, staff ownership, and a working draft for human review.

People remain responsible.
01

Open

Identify the settled case, enter the closing header, and provide the release and Howell chart.

02

Prepare

Confirm provider contacts and prepare the firm’s reduction-request letters for staff review and sending through its approved process.

03

Track

Follow each payee’s request, response, counter, acceptance, and due follow-up.

04

Assemble

Produce the Settlement Memorandum working draft, with open or conflicting items disclosed.

Practical capabilities

Less manual assembly. More visible context.

Reduction workbench

Provider-ledger and contact lookup support preparation of reduction-request letters. Generation is separate from sending.

Payee follow-up

Track requests, counters, accepted amounts, follow-up dates, and open items across the closing work.

Settlement memorandum

Source-backed calculations and an editable working draft support staff, attorney, and client review.

Connected workflow

Closing follows the evidence and the people responsible.

Gatekeeper produces demand-side facts. Howler produces settlement-side facts and the closing draft, while TelaCase remains the case-operations workbench.

Howler generates and files draft letters; it does not send them, negotiate, approve, sign, or move money. Attorneys and staff own the approved negotiation and closing process. Tools and access follow the written managed-service scope.
